HMIS System Requirements

Hardware

• Pentium 300 Mhz machine or higher.
• Mouse and keyboard.
• 800x600 screen resolution or higher.
• 128mb RAM (256mb preferred)
• Hard drive: 1gb space preferred.

Software

• Windows ME, XP, 2000 (XP or 2000 preferred)
• MS Office 2000 and higher will allow additional functionality of reports and data downloads.
• Internet Explorer 6.0 or higher (may be downloaded free from Internet, and comes with most Microsoft Office installations).
• Latest updates and patches must be applied. Agencies are responsible for the maintenance of their systems.

Connectivity

• Broadband internet connectivity to each computer accessing VESTA. This means a local area network if more than one computer is expected to access VESTA.
• Internet firewall hardware or software (may come with router)
• Antivirus software

Other

• Private and secure area for data entry work where access to the computer is limited to staff. (In order to prevent non-authorized personnel from viewing screen during data entry).
• Users will be required to work from computers recognized by the system, not from home, libraries or other public locations.
• Each user will require an authorized user name and password administered by HMIS staff.
